DEATH OF THE WYE - RIVER IN CRITICAL STATE😢
Please watch this if you love Britain’s rivers!

A very sad but accurate and concise appraisal of the river Wye from RiverActionUK
Thanks to Jeremy Wade for his support and contribution (lovely to see him getting involved).

There were questions been asked the other day about an amendment to the Levelling-Up Bill which was tabled and then withdrawn, one which was supposedly going to help protect chalk streams.

But was it? Guy Linley-Adams from WildFish expertly explains.

If taxpayers end up paying to clean up the mess your Party and government has made of our beautiful rivers and coastline Rishi Sunak, you will pay for it at the general election. What are you going to do about the greed and incompetence within Thames Water 💧?

There is an excellent web site for seeing how to vote tactically to stop the shameless, lying, self-serving Tories. Yet again they’ve put water industry shareholder profit and executive pay ahead of clean rivers.

Not just a wrecking ball to our already-ailing economy, but a staggering government disregard for the natural world built into its ill-fated gamble with our taxes. I now understand what this government means by removing red tape...

This once-healthy Anton fish school almost gone. Weed beds have regressed since one year ago (date of this shot). Could be the usual suspects (raw sewage, drought, poaching). But I don't know exactly why fish numbers seem so depleted here.

Listening to some fascinating serious debate about our rivers, but also watching some superb film preview imagery and hearing inspirational poetry at the The Rivers Trust Spring conference

I'm delighted to get some recognition for British rivers through Underwater Photographer of the Year. Attached images picked up awards, including runner up in British Waters Wide Angle. Opportunity taken to tell the sad story about over-abstraction, pollution et al

A voice of sanity amongst scaremongering on costs from the The Rivers Trust Christine Colvin. Suggestions the Lords amendment would immediately require eye-watering expenditure are misleading. theriverstrust.org/about-us/news/…

Our race to resilience will be won or lost on our rivers and right now we are losing. Precious habitat is being destroyed. The Rivers Trust State of our Rivers report suggests plenty of things we can all do to help halt the decline.
