Schools – for new Technical Awards, the terminal rule means that the exam must be taken last. Non-examined assessment cannot be taken after the exam.

Ofqual Chief Regulator, Sir Ian Bauckham CBE recently visited the Academy. Sir Ian was keen to visit a school in the North East to gain views on GCSEs, A Levels & vocational qualifications. Students were articulate, polite, insightful & welcomed the opportunity to share thoughts.

Our Policy and Stakeholder Manager, Helen Cuthbert, joined Ofqual for a visit to SETA yesterday to hear the challenges experienced by ITP - they heard directly from apprentices themselves as well as how EPA plans impact providers.

We’re intending to fine City & Guilds £200K for several breaches in 5 years.

Sir Ian Bauckham CBE said:“City & Guilds has co-operated from the beginning and their latest improvement plan…should allow everyone to draw a line under these issues.”
