I see things like this happening in different areas of research, and just can't help thinking about the claims made in the California Math Framework, including ones that were deleted like the '2.8 years of gains from a 4 week camp.' tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10…

The Celtics used to practice at Brandeis when I was in graduate school. One day I saw Rick Fox and Chris Corchiani have a 3 point shooting contest after practice. The both never missed. It is mind boggling how good NBA players are. mind boggling.

Probably a tie between these two. They both helped me understand the difference between the business world and the academic world.

Also understanding these books will leave you with permanent alarm bells going off anytime you are near people playing too close to the edge.

My complex analysis course in college is what convinced me to be a math major. In fact, it was this specific problem that just blew my mind - how could you have an integral whose value was pi / e???

The memories of that class are among my favorites from undergrad math.
