Arkane Studios is the creator of two of my favorite game franchises of all time, Prey and Dishonored. I'm sad and disappointed to see the Austin studio close down, but there is a dedicated group of devs who are committed to keeping the torch of that genre alive and vibrant.

Xbox is a schizophrenic brand these days. Absolutely incoherent and bafflingly inept with a borderline religious dedication to ensuring their own failures. Their skill at shooting themselves in the foot is unparalleled.

Unrecognizable from the 360 era. Sad, but unsurprising.

At this point, can we conclude that Game Pass as a business was a mistake? The main thing it succeeded at was training Xbox players to not buy games

So bummed to hear about the closer of Tango Gameworks. They were an incredibly talented studio with some amazing games. RIP the Evil Within 3 dream.

Congrats on spending $100 Billion on studios I guess

Tango created one of the best survival horror franchises in years.

They didn’t deserve this.

It’s always one step forward and two steps backwards with Microsoft.

I see some people cheering to closure of Arkane Austin and it's legitimately stupid.

Was Redfall a bad game? In my opinion, yes. They also delivered Prey, one of the best immersive sims ever.

Xbox will deeply regret the closure of Tango Gameworks one day. They continue to say how they seek Japanese developers yet shutdown one of the best teams located IN THAT

Wonder if Ms moves away from Game Pass as a model eventually. The only way to be profitable is to have millions and millions of players. The players only stay if there’s a steady stream of new content, like Netflix. These studios could have provided that content.

No good deed goes unpunished

Studios come and go, but closing Tango Gameworks is absolutely unforgivable in my opinion. That studio was on the verge of defining itself post-Mikami-san.

I’m sure everyone will land on their feet, but I’m here to help if anyone wants advice on moving to the US.
