On a serious note, a recurring theme with this Government: More communications advisers than anybody other institution or company on the island, and yet somehow every problem ends up being, to their eyes, a matter of 'poor communications'.

This is utterly bizarre. It's as if the Irish Government is saying that it is incapable of passing or updating its own legislation to deal with new challenges.

What difference does this make? Under the law, if you present at a border crossing and tell an official that you wish to seek asylum, you've got to be allowed in. That's our 'international legal and moral obligation'.
