For more on this, have a look at ‘Rethinking Primary Prevention’, a white paper Michael Salter and I developed over the past year. It doesn’t hold all the answers, but it’s a start. We need to shake things up and think big. jesshill.substack.com/p/rethinking-p…

When victim survivors ask for a response from the State they deserve an adequate one.

Waving a piece of paper and asking a highly dangerous perpetrator not to harm you is not adequate.

How many times will a woman be murdered and we hear:
She had an IVO
He was out on bail

Accountability IS prevention.

It cannot just be about teaching a new generation different values and *hope* we get it right.

Accountability falls to the legal system and to values of society. This can change now.

The girl behind the photo. A reminder that Palestinians killed by Israel are not just numbers or white shrouds. They were once smiling 5 year olds who once hoped for peace. ✌🏽 💔😞
