Unfortunately, #Pennsylvania is the only state in the USA, where local police, like the Chambersburg Police, cannot use radar enforcement to protect municipal workers in work zones on local streets, so I guess only State work zones can have this protection.

#Chambersburg Electric Utility reports that the decorative column streetlight on the west side of Lincoln Way at Glen Street was destroyed by a car in an overnight accident. This is not the first time. It will be rebuilt, and the Borough will seek restitution from the driver.

While this unfortunate incident occurred at our July 4th Celebration, Chambersburg Police were on scene immediately & responded & handled situation so well that most attendees didn't know it happened; thanks CPD. Victim & alleged assailant knew one another. tristatealert.com/felony-charges…

For the third time over last week, #Chambersburg Borough received upwards of 2" of rain over one hour this aftenoon, with a 2" storm Saturday and 4" in two hour storm last week. Torrential downpours are generally not this frequent & cause localized urban flooding each storm.

At Noon today NWS State College issued a FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 PM THIS EVENING for many locations including #Chambersburg. Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of low-lying & flood-prone locations. Be prepared.
