European honeybees get a lot of buzz, but native pollinators are estimated to pollinate 75% of flowering plants around the world. Did you know more than 3,500 species of native bees help increase crop yields?

Some of the most powerful conservation happens quietly on land that’s protected not just for today, but for generations to come. ACEP protects working lands, wetlands, and wildlife habitat while keeping the land in production and in the family. nrcs.usda.gov/programs-initi…

#MonarchFact! Monarch caterpillars store toxins from milkweed, yet some creatures still eat them. Like this small spider we found. This is another way monarchs support healthy ecosystems as they are an important food source for birds, spiders, and insects: monarchjointventure.org/faq/predation

Rain gardens are strategically located depressions landscaped with perennial flowers and native vegetation to allow some water filter through the soil instead of into storm drains. This improves water quality while enhancing plant diversity and pollinator habitat! via NRCS-Montana

The first step to planting perennials starts well before you actually plant! Selecting perennials well-suited for the planting location is the first step in the process. Soil moisture, light levels, & winter hardiness of the site should match the plant's growing requirements.

Meet the monarch super generation! While most monarch butterflies only live 2-6 weeks, the last generation to hatch each summer will live through the winter with most migrating all the way to Mexico! 📷 Tina Shaw/USFWS

Milkweed’s flower shape and sticky pollen trap many smaller insects, like this fly. Only larger-bodied insects can successfully remove milkweed pollen. Planting a variety of native plants supports a wider range of pollinators, ensuring plants have access to multiple pollinators.

IMCC blog: Monarchs face many threats during their long migration including disease and lack of floral resources. You can help protect the fall migration by planting fall-blooming native nectar plants and replacing non-native milkweed with native species. monarch.ent.iastate.edu/news/2025/plan…

Mid-August marks the start of fall migration for millions of monarchs! Now through mid-November, these butterflies will travel during the day and roost in trees at night. You may see anywhere from a few to hundreds taking a break along the way. 📷 Mike Budd/USFWS
