I missed the recent aurora displays. I go to bed quite early. I always marvel though at the morning sky. Today the East is sunlit and silver. Wisps of cloud on a grey canvas like Monet painting. The west dark and foreboding like a classroom blackboard slowly inching towards us.

Woke early so out for an early walk. Front gardens adorned with sprjng flowers. Clematis trailing over fences. A half barrel planter shedding its Oak strips like fruit being peeled. A terrible traffic jam onto the industrial estate due to emergency roadworks, lots late for work.

Rescue Ĺab gotcha day yesterday subject of final approval. A day for easing into family life and getting know one another. Always remember that Labs eat anything. Managed to save my dropped Samsung earbud from that huge saliva filled mouth!

The dark sun appeared around the world at sunrise. The dark and light twins hanging in the sky together. There had been no warning. Some said it was always there. A malevolence spread quuckly across the planet. One by one our race began to disappear. #horrorprompt #vss365

There are hundreds of ancient Oaks in Sherwood Forest that are either dead or dying slowly. They are magnificent. I was lost for word at the thought of trees growing in this place for long generation after long generation for thousands of years!

I don't know why I've not been to Sherwood Forest before. I had a brilliant time today. This is the major Oak, belived to be between 800 - 1100 years old, weighs 23 tons and thought to be the largest Oak in the UK! Kind of blew my mind a little.

Striding to the bypass & industrial estate. The roads are buzzing with traffic, the town still sleeps. A smell of diesel lingers in the cool morning air giving me a sore throat. The grass verges litter strewn are a symphony of white with ox eye daisies, cow parsley & hawthorn.
