Northern police departments have so far acted with both more restraint and have rhetorically characterized the protesters as peaceful. The south is a different ballgame, as weโ€™ve seen at Texas and Emory. The worst could easily happen. I truly have no clue what theyโ€™re thinking.

College presidents donโ€™t seem to grasp how easily things could go sideways, and what will happen if a student is shot. We all saw that Atlanta cop manhandling an older professor and screaming at her that sheโ€™s a fascist. Theyโ€™ve been primed to think these protests are dangerous.

Elizabeth Spiers He is complaining that people are protesting for โ€˜clout,โ€™ while simultaneously complaining about masking and hiding their identities- which is logically inconsistent (like most of the reactionary arguments about protesting)

sg Spoken like somebody whose parents paid for college and did not, like I did, have to work two jobs and would lose financial aid and scholarships for protesting. But congrats on not having any student debt!
