By the prison service's own measure of safe and decent accommodation, there is room for only 79,072 people in the prison estate. The population is 8,433 above this level.

Positive to see some investment into helping people on probation with their Mental Health…Not withstanding the issue of addressing MH before people get caught up in the criminal justice system, I also note that this funding is for those with ‘low-level issues’ only. ⬇️
