An abundance of information—both true and false—is spreading alongside the COVID-19 pandemic. #Infodemic confuse people about how to react to the disease outbreak. The World Health Organization (WHO) & 1300+ experts developed a plan for #infodemic management bit.ly/3hvoL2E

I love this story about a collaboration between the Mayo clinic and geologists at the University of Illinois. Kidney stones stop being useless rocks and become valuable sources of information: history.mayoclinic.org/books-films/he…

Proud of the work Victor Jones has done with diversity recruitment at the iSchool at Illinois. African American MSLIS students increased by 73% (19 in fall 2014 to 33 in fall 2020). Latinx MSLIS enrollment increased by 113% in the program (30 in fall 2014 to 64 in fall 2020).

Equally as impressive is the quality of those students. Of the 61 American Library Association Spectrum Scholarships for minority graduate students, 17 went to Illinois this year. The rest of the top-10 library programs (Illinois is #1) have 8 scholars between them.

An Dr Ellie Murray, ScD tweet from a while ago is the inspiration for mine today. The biggest thing I got wrong during the pandemic was public & political support. I just knew since the world finally understood epidemics & pandemics, they would also realize the importance of public health
