Today is the funeral of Bebe King. My thoughts and prayers are with her family through this difficult time. In honouring their wishes for a private funeral, I encourage anyone who wishes to pay their respects to light a candle in Bebe's memory, and to work for a better future.

⚠️ Over 14,000 children have been killed in Gaza. Homes, schools and hospitals destroyed. @keir_starmer @davidlammy, now is not the time for half measures. The UK must suspend ALL arms to the Government of Israel. Watch and share our latest film with @oxfamGB. Gaza

Yet for the poorest families, entrenched systemic inequalities created a “perfect storm” of challenges."

Save the Children UK Just for Kids Law Child Poverty Action Group Centre for Young Lives Children’s Rights Alliance for England Dan Paskins We know some groups suffered more than others. Babies, whose parents lost the support of health visitors… children & young people from Black and racialised communities…looked after children; and children with SEND. We must learn from their difficult experiences.

🚨 NEW: We have called on Rachel Reeves to introduce a ‘child lock’ on child-related benefits, similar to the pensions triple lock, in the Autumn budget. Coupled with scrapping the two-child limit & benefit cap, 400,000 would be lifted out of poverty. bit.ly/48iosED

Save the Children UK (@savechildrenuk) 's Twitter Profile Photo

If a child lock had been introduced at the same time as the pensions triple lock, and the two-child limit and benefit cap were not introduced, 690,000 fewer children would be in poverty today. Read the full report 👇 savethechildren.org.uk/what-we-do/chi…
