Wes Streeting has defended Labour’s policy not to scrap the two-child benefit cap.

This impacts around 1.5 million children and this cruelty will leave thousands of families impoverished.

I find it really disappointing that Bristol Labour aren't meaningfully engaging with discussions around the new committee system.

There's a lot of expertise and passion in Labour and it's a shame that they want to put party politics above serving their city effectively.

It's important to explain to people that the committee system Bristol has adopted (by majority vote) is not like the cabinet/leader system. If a party falls short of a majority, it is less necessary to try and form a formal coalition. Here's why... 🧵

I finally met with Labour Leader Tom Renhard this afternoon and am disappointed that it took so long.

Myself and the other party group leaders have said we are happy for Labour to send a deputy or rearrange meeting times (with notice) if childcare is an issue moving forward.
