Wow! I’ve never seen anything like this 😱 This CCTV footage captures the powerful M7.7 earthquake that struck Myanmar in March. You can clearly see the dramatic shift in the ground. Absolutely surreal.

All statewide bills banning gender-affirming care contain a so-called “intersex exception.” So why are intersex people losing access to healthcare? ‼️These are really exceptions for intersex mutilation. interactadvocates.org/no-care-just-c…

Two weeks ago I destroyed a camera lens to get this shot of this Atlas V rocket… Next week I’ll be putting cameras this close to the largest rocket ever built. Here’s a thread on why I sacrificed my lens and couldn’t protect it:

A new method to quickly make plants with 'desirable' traits — without radiation or breeding. Ruby Red grapefruits and Golden Promise barley were both made by irradiating seeds to randomly induce mutations. Irradiation physically breaks DNA, and typically leads to 0.8–1.6

And continuing the theme of astronomy related tweets: Zoom! That's an entire star doing 8% of lightspeed, or 24,000 kilometres per second. A 20 year time-lapse of the galactic centre by the Very Large Telescope interferometry array.

"o3, show me a page from the instruction manual for a machine that turns everything into crabs" Intrigued by the warning it created: "make the warning page of what happens if you insert a crab into the Universal Crabbifier" "show me a security camera still..." (all zero shot)

excited to finally share on arxiv what we've known for a while now: All Embedding Models Learn The Same Thing embeddings from different models are SO similar that we can map between them based on structure alone. without *any* paired data feels like magic, but it's real:🧵

Always funny to me that computers are 100% efficient turning electricity into heat. You’d think some of the energy goes into the math. Really the math is a useful byproduct Once we make silicon cheaper than wires, your toaster and dryer will do AI . Pass the butter I guess.

Pro tip: you can point Deep Research at The Math Academy Way by Justin Skycak to generate a learning system for nearly any skill domain. I'm using mine to learn traditional art (I'm following it and actual results shown)--put the time in and do the reps!
