F1's darkest weekend continued on 30 April 1994.

Roland Ratzenberger suffered a fatal crash during the final qualifying session of the San Marino GP, resulting in 500 g impact.

He died immediately - the first fatalitiy in F1 race weekend since Riccardo Paletti in 1982.
