Fremont's Emma-Claire Fritz opens the day with a second period pin in her first wrestleback. It's her first state win.

Fremont's Martina Alonzo-Gomez (120) is moving on in the consolation bracket with a 12-4 major decision. It's her first win at the state tournament in two trips.

Fremont's Daisy Alonzo-Gomez (125) pulls off a dramatic comeback to stay alive at state. Down 7-0 going into the second period, the freshman flipped the script to get a pin for her first state win.

Fremont's three wins this mornings means the Tigers for the second time in girls program history will leave Omaha with every wrestler getting at least one win. It's made more impressive by the fact this is the largest group the team has brought to state.

Fremont's Sophia Turpitt is a win away from a medal, earning a first period pin in her second round of wrestlebacks.

Both Fremont’s Emma-Claire Fritz and Daisy Alonzo-Gomez’s season come to a close in the second consolation round. Fritz dropped a 7-6 decision. Alonzo-Gomez was pinned.

Fremont’s Martina Alonzo-Gomez will have a chance at a medal, getting a second period pin in the second consolation round.

Fremont Julissa Guerrero-Pena is going to the third round of wrestlebacks with a third period.

She was pinned in the consolation semifinals and will wrestle for 5th.

Fremont’s Preston Wagner had his eye on a potential match-up with the current king of the Class A heavyweights, Omaha North’s Tyson Terry, all season. Wagner will get his shot at him tonight. fremonttribune.com/sports/high-sc…

Day 1 of the FHS After School Fuel Program was a success! 60 Tiger athletes took advantage of the free healthy fuel! Hoping for more and more each day! A huge thank you goes out to Julie Schleister of Care Corps LifeHouse and the FACF for helping to make this happen!
