How much electricity will cost more in the near term in Europe? I’m still unable to understand how making green hydrogen from coal/gas shouldn’t be green washing? From where the C for e-methanol will come from? CO2 matters Jean-Michel Glachant Carlo Stagnaro 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇺🇦 Gianni Silvestrini David Chiaramonti

US is setting itself up nicely to capture a majority of energy transition IP. EU is catching up but wasting time on H2.....whilst non-China Asia remains asleep.

No, I disagree. Blue H2 is not a pathway forward, but a distraction with heavy greenhouse gas consequences. Hydrogen generally is being wildly over-hyped, driven by oil & gas interests. The future of hydrogen in a decarbonized world will be modest & 100% green H2.

fastcompany.com/90824702/verti… Not a surprise. Success is about keeping factor inputs low and building in tandem with (remunerative) demand growth. Usually, a single level greenhouse is best. High-end tech farms that require a large/high-value market run the risk of being over-sized.

We are living in a world of extremes. And additional warming will only increase the magnitude of these changes. In light of the latest IPCC findings, here are 7 graphics to help you visualize what's needed next on climate action 👇

🤯 Shocking data from The Detox Project shows relative amounts of glyphosate: 0.1 ppb - altered the gene function and severe organ damage in rats 10 ppb - toxic effects on the livers of fish 700 ppb - permitted levels in US tap water 1125 ppb - Cheerios 11,900 ppb - GMO Soybeans

Haber–Bosch, which is used to make nitrogen fertilizer (ammonia) from atmospheric nitrogen, uses 1% of the world's energy; a crazy amount for one process. Shell's scenario for the year 2100 has direct air capture (DAC) using 13%(!) of the world’s energy. carbonbrief.org/analysis-shell…

Went though an EV deck today from a new contact.....prototype to material market impact is 2 years.....but he's well funded and expecting to close out the rest of the raise in 2 months. So where is the realism in this and the penalty for being very late ??

Absolutely sterling work from Sam Dumitriu and the Britain Remade gang. Hokkaido's new shinkansen line was built for £50m per mile, with almost half of the line tunnelled. Phase one of Britain's HS2 is now forecast to cost... £396m per mile. samdumitriu.com/p/britains-inf…

Indian companies and politicians still pumping up H2 into gas pipelines for decarb.......gravity has yet to arrive in the sector.......a sharper focus on what works economically and w/o changing infra wholesale would be a better conversation.
