New from #UWashEMS team "The current findings support dispatchers & bystanders maintaining the most efficient approach that prioritizes rapid identification of OHCA & immediately proceeds to chest compressions and use of a defibrillator." Don't change care because of #COVID19

We lost a Great today: Dr. Leonard Cobb (1926-2023). Dr. Cobb helped create the RAF and spent 40yrs leading Seattle Medic One. His advice is timeless: there are no magic bullets; stick to quality CPR, and always measure/improve your system. Seattle Fire Dept. UW Medicine @global_RA

We are sad to announce the passing of Dr. Leonard Cobb, a luminary in the field of prehospital care for patients with cardiac disease. His achievements are many, but perhaps the most notable was helping establish in 1970 the Seattle Medic One paramedic program at HMC... (1/3)

When we had our first child, Dr. Cobb asked what we had chosen as a name. I told him, and he recited the entire book “Madeline”. Once finished, he said, “Beautiful choice.” Dr. Cobb was a giant of EMS but was also an impeccable human being. We will miss you.

No difference in airway management (EMS or ED) for cases of acute behavioral disturbance treated with either midazolam or ketamine. A high functioning EMS system can safety deliver ketamine to agitated patients. #UWashEMS annemergmed.com/article/S0196-…
