With Rutgers naming Athan Kaliakmanis the starting QB, a few quick thoughts:

• Kaliakmanis raises the floor for the offense
• RU believes in Ajani Sheppard as the backup
• Schiano did right by Gavin so he could enter the portal
• Schiano being decisive > playing it safe 👍

Rutgers transfer Clifford Omoruyi, the top available big man in the portal, will begin a visit to North Carolina on Thursday, he tells On3.

The 6-11 center says UNC will be his final visit. Has also been to Alabama, Georgetown, and Kansas State.

Credit to Rutgers head coach Scott Goodale & staff for how they handled All-American heavyweight Yaraslau Slavikouski entering the transfer portal. They respected his process & kept the door open, allowing Yara time to ultimately decide remaining with the program was best. BIG!

Yaraslau Slavikouski, who entered the transfer portal last month, will be returning to Rutgers, according to sources. Yaraslau took a few visits but felt Rutgers was ultimately the best place for him. Huge news for #Rutgers wrestling.
