On this date in 1948 Roy Campanella played in his first AL/NL game. He enters the game in the bottom of the 7th inning as a defensive replacement for catcher Gil Hodges. In his first plate appearance, he is hit in the ribs by Ken Trinkle's first pitch. #OTD
