We’ve joined more than a dozen transportation and environmental groups in backing the #BlueHighways campaign to urge the city to take back Pier 6 in Manhattan from helicopter joyride companies. Using it as a cargo terminal can take 1,000 trucks a day off our roads.

I’m really worried about my beloved NYC. I complain A LOT about the tourist copters swarming our city. They’re maddening. But they’re also emblematic of a disturbing trend: policies that MONETIZE our city in ways that threaten to make it unlivable. In the name of ‘convenience.’

Councilwoman Inna Vernikov I live in Northeast Queens in Councilwoman Vickie Paladino district. The amount of charter helicopter flights all year especially summer months dumping toxic pollution into residential communities, schools and playgrounds is staggering. This is not a LEFT issue.
