A generation that is willing to protest is a generation who believes the world can be better and they can make it that way, and in our current hellscape, that is a wonderful thing.

the funniest thing about the Yale protests is it was located SO OUT OF THE WAY, by the rare book library with passages left clear. But they arrested a bunch of kids without cause this morning and now it’s in the middle of a central intersection.

The problem has never been pen names, or someone not sharing their face on the Internet.

No one owes you transparency when it comes to a pen name. This idea of the accessible author is BRAND NEW and has become so ingrained in our book community that it feels like it's never not been like this but it wasn't even like this when *I* was a teenager & I'm not even 40 yet.

There is a great deal of professional trust that happens between an agent and author when they sign. There has to be. But the verification process of: Tax ID, EIN, SS, address, etc. SHOULD be enough for, you know, most normal situations. Not the weird fraud ones.
