Another level of concern I have here is the impact this will have on school aged kids who commute. They are already targeted for their vulnerability.

I will stay this time and time again, nothing makes Students and Parents more angry than tinkering with the few things kids like. Just leave the school menu alone.

Admittedly HS menus are better than elementary because they have better options. Who is going to tell that student that those chicken fingers were cut from the menu?

Yas Toddlers Can Read

My dream panel would be having Toddlers Can Read and Kareem J. Weaver reminding adults why we need to get out of our own way! Our kids are relying on us but while we are too busying debating, our kids are struggling.

Ummm 🤔
1. The items cut are historically foods that all kids love…ask any NYC public school adult. Those cookies were a trading commodity!
2. Kids aren’t allowed to have seconds…ever. Kids know when they are serving their favorite meals.

So…🤔

Saw Toddlers Can Read on Melissa & Lori Love Literacy podcast and this resonated with me.
Adults, unfortunately, are too busy fighting while we have kids struggling. I would wish we would listen to understand more than listen to respond.
Sadly, it’s the adults that can’t get out of their own way.

There’s nothing more factual than history.
I watched Battle for Brooklyn which depicts the development of Atlantic yards. It’s fascinating how many electeds and community leaders were got by the developers. Shout out to NY AG James who while a CM stood for justice.

I guess the facts are not being shared anymore. It wasn’t shoplifting that closed these stores, it’s the RX lawsuits!

Spent a few days visiting a district that was last in state for reading. Now, they're at/near the top. We brought people from NY, CA, Mizzou, Ga, and NM to see it. Poverty, English Learners, Diverse- it can be done. Ignore the naysayers.
