The lack of representation of women in sport leadership & governance remains a persistent global challenge. This representation is exacerbated in contexts where entrenched identity-defining patriarchal ideologies and cultural perspectives remain. One such context is Indian sport:

While it has a rapidly developing economy, India’s sporting policy & wider ecosystem is still in its infancy. Poor infrastructure coupled with issues of gender inequality in Indian sport governance are constrained by elements of India’s cultural system & gender norms.
