While visiting Scapa Flow, CHARGER held a short service of remembrance at the wreck of HMS ROYAL OAK, where 833 sailors lost their lives. The oil from the wreck can still be seen rising to the surface to this day, a chilling reminder of the reality of conflict. Royal Navy in Scotland

This week some Officer Cadets arrived in Kiel for the beginning of their deployment on HMS CHARGER. The first day involved visits to a WWII U-boat and war memorial followed by a tour of RFA Mounts Bay which was thoroughly enjoyed by all! #URNUGlasgow #UBootEhrenmal #KielerWoche

This weekend some of the @UKinNL team joined HMS CHARGER as it sailed from the 🇳🇱 Koninklijke Marine base in Den Helder to Amsterdam.

A great day learning about the ship and the way both the crew and the embassy work to support the UK/NL relationship. Thank you for having us onboard!

While off the Swedish coast students participating in #BALTOPS2023 experienced ships manoeuvres when HMS Explorer met up with HMS CHARGER . When docked in Karlskrona OC's visited the maritime museum and while alongside in Simrishamn they treated the crew to a BBQ!

After a day alongside spent exploring Amsterdam, HMS CHARGER continued on to Bruges, Belgium where embarked OCs had the opportunity to visit restored WWI German trenches and the Tyne Cot war cemetery, where 11,961 Commonwealth servicemen of WWI are buried or commemorated.
