Happy #MothersDay Sunday!
Let Benjamin Dube take us to church.
Reminiscing #30YrsIntoDemocracySA on the #FeliciaShow .
Hugh Molotsi Marquette University Thanks @HughMolotsi.๐๐พ
Al Jarreau was one of my favorite interviews. He went to the same high school as Earl Suttle, Ph.D.. Surprised him with a call from Earl.
Check out the Nokia flip phone.๐คฃ
Reminiscing with #AlJarreau about Marquette University,
a prestigious #Jesuit university in Milwaukee. In the mid 70s, it literally had a 1% black student body. Imagine this girl from apartheid #SA even becoming an adjunct lecturer & starting a scholarship program for SA students there.
It's #TeachersAppreciationWeek !
#30YrIntoDemocracySA , I want to acknowledge one teacher who made an impact in my life-- #RevMotlalepuleChabaku . Happy I was able to have her on the #FeliciaShow on numerous occasions. She use to say that she was proud of the fruits of her labor.
Oooh nooo!๐ Missed posting this yesterday on your birthday.๐๐พ
Was holding this clip to post on your birthday Redi Tlhabi.
Fikara bhe. Lenyalo hot! Hope Brian & the girls gave you a great birthday! We celebrate again when you come to the ATL. You & Earl Suttle, Ph.D. were on it!๐๐พ๐บ๐พ
Missing these 'deep' conversations with
#ZindziMandela and Sis Winnie.
Oh how I admired #WinnieMandela 's courage. She was fearless.
Zindzi is right. We must celebrate women more. We must fight GBV & ageism.
#30YrsIntoDemocracySA , we can't forget how we got to where we are today.
Drove past apollotheater in New York, and could not help reflect on one of my dreams during my short stint in showbiz. I use to dream of seeing my name on this marquee. Dreams do come true. I did, but was speaking not singing.
Lovely Shared Interest 30th #SA Anniversary gala!
Walked into a lovely outdoor hot spot. This gentleman & his family paid me a lovely compliment. Yes, I was wearing black & white.๐คฃThey even quietly paid the bill. We're looking for them. One good turn deserves another.
Earl Suttle, Ph.D., my sister & I, are still talking about them.
Lest we forget.
Our youth played a crucial role in struggle against #apartheid . From the streets of Soweto where they fought bullets with stones, to the world stage where cast of award winning #Sarafina educated the world about the brutalities of apartheid.
