In 1990 I directed the film 'Grand Isle' based on “The Awakening”, a 19th century feminist novel by Kate Chopin. It isn’t available on to stream (nor on DVD/BR) & hasn’t been screened theatrically since it was featured at TIFF and nominated at Deauville. (1)

Great movie. The chemistry between Deborah Foreman and Nicolas Cage is fantastic and charming and the soundtrack made teenage me want to move to Los Angeles immediately.
