Lord, when we face
the trials and temptations
we encounter in life,
help us to do so
with openness to your Spirit,
with a readiness to be
guided, steered, directed
by your wisdom;
keep us attentive
to your voice,
and strong in our faith,
firmly following your way.

When you deny access to disabled people, you not only deny entry and opportunity.
Inaccessibility is isolation, segregation,
exclusion and trauma.

Fill us, Lord,
not only with desire
to hear your voice,
but also with willingness
and openness
to listen,
to be enthused
and encouraged,
changed and challenged,
by what you have to say to us.
Keep us ready to respond
to your call upon us,
surprising as it may seem.

Lord, when life is busy
and demands are many,
when what others want from us
is more than we can offer,
when our heads and hearts
are full of the things
we would like to do,
but our resource is stretched,
then guide us,
give us wisdom,
help us find
our peace
in you.

Lord,
help us remember
the heroes of our faith;
those who are well known,
whose deeds are recorded,
and those whose names
we will never know
yet whose legacy in faith
we enjoy.
As they surround us
with their prayers,
may we live our faith fully,
and inspire others.

consciously in your presence,
simply being ourselves before you.
Help us to listen,
to keep our hearts open
to hear your word to us,
that we may build our lives,
all that we do, all that we are,
on the foundation of your love.

our hunger to be fed
in the depths of our being,
by the nourishment for our souls
that only you can offer.
Open our hearts to your word,
and our eyes to your presence,
as we encounter you this day
on our journey together.

instil in us
your gifts of faith and fortitude,
attentiveness and awareness,
that we may be alert to you;

your activity in our midst,

for signs of your presence
