Our crew in Venice. It’s a good day.

There is no better human being on earth. A remarkable coach, but much better father and husband; the prayers of our family shower this amazing Christian and positive educator. The news is devastating, but I trust nobody in the world will get more out of the days ahead than Adam.

The league title is still within our grasp. This team competes and believes. Let’s pack Alexander for this huge series.

First match in Milan has been rained-out. That is correct. Excessive rain the past two days have flooded the city thoroughfares and forced ⁦Purdue Volleyball⁩ to wait until Thursday to battle the Italian Federation squad. Despite the postponement, the Boilers are still all-smiles.

Up and at ‘em this morning on a sweet morning in Milan. Long journey to get here, but eager for what lies ahead. Practice at noon, lunch, sight-seeing in the city. Two matches w/ Italian Federation squads on Wednesday and Thursday before moving on to Croatia. Finish in Istanbul.

Happy Birthday to our #4, ⁦Kenna⁩ - the high flying pin attacker who is a pleasure to have in our gym every day. Kenna has adjusted to the college game extremely well and is enjoying a great off-season. Have a fantastic celebration!

Huge road win!

Great lunch today at the Revolution Barbeque in downtown Lafayette. I was joined by a couple of outstanding storytellers - former Purdue Swim Coach Dan Ross & Purdue’s Matt Painter. A few days before Purdue Volleyball departs for foreign trip to Istanbul, it was great fellowship.

I prefer flying low with minimal distractions. That will be hard this fall with the ⁦Purdue Volleyball⁩ squad we will put on the floor. After 3 days of practice in prep for European trip, I’m encouraged. We are young but play with savvy - full of ballers. I love coaching this crew.

I took my oldest grandson (Zeke) to the Friday win over IU at Alexander Field. After three innings, he said, “number one is my favorite player”. I leaned back and thought, my grandson knows baseball. Zeke had a mouthful of skittles in this photo. I had a mindful of gratitude.

Boilers have bounced back beautifully after tough loss on Sunday to rival. The momentum is real.

Two talented and well-coached teams will battle for the NCAA Men’s National Championship match! All sports fans will enjoy watching these athletes compete on the home-court of #1 seed Long Beach State. This is the only NCAA tournament match to be televised which is disappointing.

Happy Birthday to the “Natural”, Julia Kane. Julia has been tremendous this spring training season. Happy to have her on our ⁦Purdue Volleyball⁩ squad.

As Joe Tiller often repeated at our morning head coaches meetings, “We are Purdue”.

I’m excited for each of these three Boilermakers who will be on the VNL roster for USA Volleyball. With the Olympics right around the corner, this is the ideal time to perform your very best.

It’s been a long time coming. Too long. Still, time to celebrate America’s fastest growing sport is officially sanctioned by the IHSAA. So many advocates of this effort come to mind. It’s a great day. I can imagine Dr. Don’s look of gratitude & joy that the day has finally come.
