Herein a singular new carbene ligand MAC (monosubstituted amino carbene) is transmetalated from a copper center to several late transition metals. This MAC ligand displays nucleophilicity similar to bulky NHC ligands but with a much reduced volume. Not BIG MAC but small MAC!

A collaborative effort co-leaded with Ana C. Albeniz, Agusti Lledos and Tomás R. Belderrain within the Organometallic Chemistry for Sustainable Solutions Network (OASIS) OASIS Network, formed by 36 research groups across Spain. GEQO RSEQ
