We have a new paper joint with British Geological Survey and Heriot-Watt IGE in The Geological Society 'Geoenergy'. The study is led by PhD student Doug Smith, studying the impact of reservoir heterogeneities (e.g. deformation bands) on underground #hydrogen storage.

We’re hosting the event with British Geological Survey, IEA Geothermal and Department for Energy Security and Net Zero.

As part of our 2023-2028 science strategy, BGS aims to increase water supply security through better understanding, monitoring and modelling of groundwater availability and quality.

This includes accounting for future impacts of both climate change and emerging technologies.

The event, run in partnership with Coal Authority, IEA Geothermal & Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, brings together international participants to share case studies of mine water heating projects and developments energy storage.
