Altella lucida - presumed regionally extinct in 2023, present at two sites over two hectads in 2024! It might be a tiny 1.4mm thing that lives in the soil, but I do think this will be here to be found further afield in Cornwall. BAS Cofnod Graeme Lyons Esmond Brown
Thanks to Patrick Barkham Guardian Environment for a great article and interview with Tylan Berry on spiders new to Britain, including Anasaitis milesae, found University of Exeter Penryn campus, new to science but almost certainly originating from the Caribbean.

Some excellent maritime heath and grassland around the Beagles Point area at East Lizard last weekend giving good numbers of Porrhoclubiona genevensis, Euophrys herbigrada and Agroeca cuprea. A new site and hectad for the latter BAS Graeme Lyons Cofnod Esmond Brown
Some of the special spiders from NorthCornwall NT Park Head recently. Instantly becomes a top site for coastal rarities! Gnaphosa occidentalis, Acartauchenius scurrilis, Euophrys herbigrada and Trichoncus saxicola. BAS Cofnod Graeme Lyons Esmond Brown 🕷️Luke_ology🕷️
Remote Blanket Bog pool spotted on🛰️📸 long trudge into middle of nowhere. Right species & growth pattern of Sphagnum in leg-deep water. Erigone welchi bogged-down on tray. New pool location for it. BAS Welsh Raised Bogs Tylan Berry Graeme Lyons
Sometimes on the cliffs here I see a new site and my spider senses go bananas!! With good reason at this specific spot too. A very special spider with a special view...that's a fourth UK site for Gnaphosa occidentalis! BAS Cofnod Graeme Lyons Esmond Brown 🕷️Luke_ology🕷️
Went out to photo Coelotes atropos, common as muck here & for some reason never bothered to photograph it before. Great looking spider, at least before its kids eat it! BAS Tylan Berry Graeme Lyons
New blanket bog pool surveyed. Negative for welchi, but male Clubiona norvegica was good to see along with new hectad record for Centromerus arcanus. BAS Tylan Berry Graeme Lyons
1/2 #speciesaday no. 233 is Hypsosinga albovittata. Nationally Scarce (but seems to be spreading). Medium-small orb weaver, with white mark on cephalothorax. Usually on chalk-grassland, acid-grassland and coastal sites. Common where it's found.
For a very brief second at the beginning of the week it felt a little like spring in Cornwall - the jumpers were all out sunning themselves. Now it seems to be back to torrential rain and hail again! BAS Cofnod Graeme Lyons Esmond Brown 🕷️Luke_ology🕷️
