Today would have been the 70th birthday of Trevor Francis. Here's the Tiger spread when we celebrated Trevor's 21st birthday. He wrote for Tiger for a long time and was a good friend.

For 23 years I've had lots of online chats with Ian Wheeler He's interviewed me and I contributed to the fanzine he edited 'Eagle Flies Again'. We'd never met, until Saturday, when we had lunch at a local pub. It was great meeting and talking comics with such an expert!

I've been showing pics of Roy and the Man United players. I thought it would be good to add this pic, showing that Tiger was also linking with the club. I was delighted when Tommy Docherty agreed to this team photo, with everyone holding copies of Tiger. No fees involved!

This week in Roy of the Rovers, 1981: Roy and Penny were back together again. I thought we should have a happy ending!

It's the morning of another Cup Final. At the Man United hotel, manager Tommy Docherty relaxes at breakfast with a copy of Roy of the Rovers. This concludes the series of Roy/Man U photos. Worth saying that no payments were involved. It was all done for free!

Continuing the series of photos taken at Man United's hotel on the day before a Cup Final, here's the moment when manager Tommy Docherty offered Roy a contract to sign for United. He even supplied a pen! Roy said he was totally happy at Melchester Rovers!
