“Ché taught us that 'revolutionaries move like fish in the sea.' The alienation and contempt that young people have for this country has created the ocean for this revolution.”

So much love for state school students who are overwhelmingly working class, many first generation, without a safety net for violence, arrest, or expulsion and doing this w/ little recognition. Truly a risk-taking principled stand in solidarity

realize this is unlikely given its current political climate/history with student activism, but wouldn’t it be cool if the first public university in the nation led the way with good faith disclosure/divestment talks

This is about Wilnington's paper, but the same applies to other NC papers owned by Gannett or Lee. I'd love to know where the money goes when companies do bare minimum staffing.

McClatchy and local ownership papers still fund decent sized newsrooms.

Hideous, sickening scenes in Atlanta, Austin, everywhere (Gaza above all else). The smarmy, cynical moralizing about young people and their tactics and their ostensible naivete has never been more vapid and evil. Young people understand what's happening. Their clarity is total!
