PSA that if you use the suffix “Dr.” on an airline ticket, united airlines will add the letters PHD to your last name such that it no longer matches the your name on your ID. Apparently united cannot do anything to fix this, even though it means TSA may not let you fly 🫠

I am delighted that some statistician just decided that “wiggliness” was going to be the official technical term to describe how smooth a non-parametric term is in a generalised additive model. BRB, referring to “wiggliness” repeatedly in my manuscript and giggling
