Whilst The Auld Triangle may be the obvious highlight, there's much else to enjoy about the northside, including the wonderful Hugh Lane Gallery. Love this place.

Treating myself to lunch in Chapter One tomorrow, very excited, from kebabs to Michelin stars is very on brand for me, probably The Auld Triangle after.

Someone mentioned the Northside Nirvana in a tweet earlier, The Auld Triangle, so I had to pop in. Amazingly, you can still get a pint for €4.50.

Have received comments recently to the effect that I promote a Disneyfied version of Ireland, ignoring all the bad stuff. First, the places I post about do actually exist. And second, there's more than enough misery on here already without me adding to it.

Turkish Kebab House on Parnell St is one of my favourites. I'm invariably the only Irish person here, always a good sign when it comes to fast food on the northside.

Lovely night out with work colleagues tonight, felt very old school and pre-Covid, was delighted to see the young crew on my staff enjoying themselves so much, like we did back in my day.

Think I'm the only person on my street who ever goes to a local pub or restaurant, always amazes me how little many people socialise, or even leave the house, I just wouldn't be able to live this way.

Huge, underrated element of a good pub is personality of the bar staff. Nobody like surly types, but I equally dislike overly extrovert, banter panthers, they become tedious very quickly.

The lads doing the biggest public blubbing for Jurgen will be the same fellas who argued we should have kept Brendan Rodgers and not hired Klopp, they mocked his final season at Dortmund. Some of us still remember, lads.
