Since defending, I’ve noticed 2 things re: how music fills my life. 1) I wake up & put on music like I used to do (the baby no longer takes a post-breakfast nap so we jam out together), & 2) the kinds of music I listen to has changed (no longer primarily “music to write/focus”).

This is one of my favorite pictures from this past weekend. It pictures just some of the people who have loved me, inspired me, supported me, and cheered for me throughout this journey. Community is everything, and mine is specially beautiful 🥰.

Watching Dr. Essah cross over to doctaaa was all I needed this week!!! We will see in her work the bridging of Africana, Caribbean, African and Black Studies. Bridging phenomenal afro-femme scholarship from Liberia to PR. Dr. Cozett Diaz presente! Proud sibling moment 😭
