R.I.P comrade Zarina Patel- Author, Activist, Editor of Awaaz and liberation shero. Unlike most Kenyan Asians who don't engage, Zarina used her privilege as an upper middle class n Jeevanjee relation to advance social justice for all just like Amilcar Cabral. Get her biography

Dr. Njoki Wamai, PhD. Hapo kwa 'Kenyan Asians don't engage' ndo umeharibu tribute. This needs a critical interrogation over a blanket essentialising condemnation. Maybe you could 'invite' over 'lambasting' daktari...... et al....

Dickush The few who engage beyond twitter and beyond the temples and communities can be counted and they are well know like Zarina, Davinder, Radha etc ..show up for meetings beyond twitter then you will continue Zarinas legacy

Dr. Njoki Wamai, PhD. Oh really now. So twitter space (sm in gen) is not counted? There is no evidence of its political effect? Am sure you have heard about the 'underground mvt' in revolutions.....I wouldn't hastly jump to conclusion, daktari. Some opt to be seen...others operate otherwise....

Dickush Twitter does have an effect I agree with you and a profound one in Kenya and it's part of political participation. The tweet says most Kenyan Asians not everyone if you read it correctly. We have Makan Singh Zarina wrote about, Pio etc I understand why most don't engage

Dr. Njoki Wamai, PhD. Sure daktari. Let's work on proportions .....how many activist as a proportion of their ethnic grp. Makes for a good empirical study.👍

Dickush Many Kenyans are increasingly apathetic and it's not unique to Kenyan Asians though less. My tweet is inspired by racism Zarina fought. Read her book if you haven't. There is a reason with Zahid they didn't even live among KAsian communities..read her book and you can appreciate
