I agree that this is a perfect production with a superb cast brilliantly led by Leslie Odom, Jr. and kara young, excellent direction by Kenny Leon, and beautiful/fun sets by Derek McLane. Bravo to entire cast and crew! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾

Robin was insanely modest, and often insisted that we was not an artist, but rather an engineer.

3/At the end of the evening tech or preview, he’d hide out in the theatre, and sleep the night onstage, in one of his prop beds.

2/Robin told the most incredible, undoubtedly embellished stories. One my favorites was that when he started working in New York, he was broke and couldn’t afford an apartment,and so he always managed to design a bed into every one of his sets.

1/I spent two heady years assisting Robin at his 890 Broadway studio, working on a few of his big designs and meeting so many of the great directors, producers and fellow designers he worked with. We remained friends ever since.

2 days after the death of director, Adrian Hall - his great designer, Eugene Lee has passed. Their extraordinary work together was astonishing. While best known for over 45 years of SNL designs, his genius inspired a generation of theater makers. Singular.
