When I arrived at SUNY-Binghamton for my MA, Jerry Rothenberg was everywhere. In two years I read him, Helen Vendler, Margie Perloff, and a host of others whose lifework was to expand the net of poetry. I did not always agree with Margie or Vendler, but their brains! Wow!
