Using my passport as ID, except for going abroad, always feels wildly over the top. I’m convinced I’ll somehow lose it on the way home. Flashing it at Tesco like I’m passing a wartime checkpoint, not collecting a parcel (usually trousers from ASOS that definitely won’t fit)

Going for my last haircut before the book launch so the catastrophiser in me is certain the barber is going to sneeze, or get stung by a wasp, and accidentally cut my head off – or, worse, give me that Hoxton fin I had in 2002.
