I'm curled in a tiny ball at the bottom of the hill. You'd think I was broken, a shell of myself, fragments of a former superpower, but that's not true. I'm a flower bud curled tightly, the secrets of the universe coded in my core, ready for #rebirth .

made to feel, like less
a life's course set
no choices to make

I see
all the versions of you
suppressed
minimized
eyes downcast
I wish I could hold
each one

I know
no way out
no escape
no rebirth
there is only
the terrible of now
and scars that ache

in the sainted cause celebre
The climb is long
swimming across seas
beyond deep
Dressed in the livery
of ages
compendium of time
breaks the tale
of constant rebirth

Waves gently lapping my feet

I relish
familiarity of foamy coolness
on my fettered feet

Chained to cycle of birth and #rebirth

And always a promise of tomorrow
The carrot before the stick

Horizon leans closer to mock me
I keep it at a distance

Where the Hydrangeas grow
Cocooned in the rebirth
Of a reconstructed Azalea show
And I’ll pluck the petals
Of a Wisteria grove
Because I built these rose thorn walls
For me

I may encounter dead bodies
ghosts in endless stirring
liches burning with old anger
mischievous sprites
whispering into ears

I may experience
cold damp isolation
of a basement
the rough granite
of a headstone
waiting for a grave

my love
is a light

you can't see

some connections
are deeper
than stars aligning
and hearts colliding
for poetic inspiration
it's the soul wrenching agony
when they are suffering
that can't be expressed
in rhythm and rhyme

Fragile wisps of dandelion dreams carried away on wings of night

I try to gather them under my eyelids
But I must await the prophecy of an oracular god

For him whose breath will scorch my senses

I'm lost in reveries

I dream of #dragon s and drumbeats
And of love's oracle

She licked the peanut butter from the knife & wondered, as he bit into his sandwich, whether it was #serendipity that joined them or something darker. “How’d you know I’d be there?”

“I’m the minute hand chasing your hour. You’re like #clockwork to me. I’ll always find u.” #vss365

She's been outsized all her life. Big-boned, said mama. My Amazon, said papa. Eyes always on her waistline, on her plate.
She wishes she knew the magic of the damselfly, the horny toad. How they shed their #dragon shapes & became small magicks.
She swallows fire & aches.

I fear my pain pales
to what hides
behind your scales

but I did not come
to slay you
but stay with you

I can't promise
tearless
but I can be
more fearless

& maybe someday
