The Dale Queen arrived this morning with our first visitors of 2024 - the season has officially begun!

Whilst the Puffins are not a guarantee each day in March and April before they come to land to breed, there were hundreds to greet our visitors in North Haven this morning.

On Skomer Island for the week to collect the first dataset of images for my #masters - so good to see the banks, sea and sky filled with #puffins 🧡

#BiosecurityforWales ' Conservation Detection Dog Jinx did a pre-season rat check of Skomer Island last week. We can confirm that Skomer remains a rat-free seabird haven! As Skomer and Skokholm Island open up again to visitors, make sure you do your bit to keep them rat free!

The sun is shining as our first volunteers of the season arrive today to help us get the island ready for opening on Friday!

First Wheatear seen today and first Blackcap and Chiffchaff yesterday.

A cracking sunset last night topped off by the first Manx Shearwater of the year.

First Bullfinch since 2017 on the island this morning.

We're back - and so are the Puffins! Excited to report our first Atlantic Puffin of the season arrived in North Haven today.
