We've spent a tremendous amount of time reflecting whether the NLP task of Sentiment Classification (x=review, y=rating) is causal or anticausal since 2020. Check out our 2024 latest answerโก๏ธarxiv.org/abs/2404.11055
๐กWe combined Causality and Psychology insights & improved #LLMs !
Really excited that our paper 'A PhD Studentโs๐งโ๐ Perspective on Research in NLP in the Era of #LLMs ' will be at #COLING2024 ! We brainstormed 45 topics๐ก that students can work on despite the LLMs. Co-led by Oana Ignat ๐ฉโ๐ป๐๐ท๐ด Zhijing Jin and Rada Mihalcea with contributions from many.

Itโs been 4yrs since COVID-19 started. While we are all eager to be over it, the wiser take would be to figure what weโve learned&what weโd do differently. With a great Computing Research team, we wrote a report on pandemic preparednessโ #AI models are part of it.
