This week marked my 22years of colour service.

What a way to mark it as the Regimental Sergeant Major for our Colonel in Chief HM Queen Camilla's first visit & I was immensely proud of how our people worked tirelessly to demonstrate the Regiment's esprit de Corp.

The Queen has paid her first visit to The Royal Lancers in North Yorkshire, since becoming their Colonel-in-Chief.

The Lancers lie close to Her Majesty's heart as her father, Major Bruce Shand, served in the Regiment during the Second World War.

1/2 FANYs complete French Paratroopers course in ETAP. We are so proud of the courageous women who have served in the FANY over the years – notably those who parachuted into occupied France during the Second World War; many of whom lost their lives.

Today is the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Katyń Massacre. One of the many thousands of victims was a cousin, Stanisław Kazimierz Karłowski (1907-1940). An investigation conducted by the Russian Federation confirmed Soviet responsibility.

Greetings to the thief who stole £60 worth of plants bought by The Putney Society volunteer to plant in the Putney Tower community parklet. I hope you enjoy the plants and think occasionally about how you are depriving the people who value the parklet.

Very nice of Times Radio to give former General Sir Richard Shirreff a chance to big up Ukraine: The Latest. Thanks guys! (Oh, and while 11.45 is the most important bit, the rest of the interview is well worth a listen.) youtu.be/LzzhQSEj-Nw?si… via YouTube

Men of the Artists Rifles were behind so much of what one sees in London, including Tower Bridge, Admiralty Arch, Billingsgate, the Royal Artillery & Victoria Memorials, MOD Main Building, the Elfin Oak, 100 Piccadilly and also the famous green cab shelters.
