So who becomes the priority here for regulatory referrals (if we had a functioning regulator) - is it the PA knowingly taking up a doctor shift inappropriately, or the supervising consultant allowing it to happen inappropriately?

SAS doctors in England, we recently extended the deadline for our talks with Government in the hope we could agree an improved offer that we could put to you.

The deadline has now passed, even though we made progress, we’re yet to reach an agreement. 👇

Probably for the same reason the BMA isn't discussing the wholesale price of astroturf, or the equipment needed to run a successful fish farm.

Fantastic event this evening with Luke Bashford discussing Utah array clinical trials. Thanks to everyone for joining, and follow our X for news about future events. Also brilliant first time King's College London Inst for Healthcare Engineering + views of parliament

This is a good prediction. And what's interesting is that given the PAs need medical supervision, we'd effectively have consultant doctors signing off and enabling the replacement of nurses. An odd interprofessional dynamic.

Going to give poor form and retweet but in the context of what's attached below. If you're going to be angry about doctors leaving, perhaps instead be angry that the government is knowingly not making enough jobs for those well-trained graduates to go into, or indeed jobs later.

What is the fix for this going to be? Med schools to limit intake unless posts are guaranteed in writing by govt +/- salary locked down and payable regardless of work availability?
