Getting rid of EMTALA, which the Supreme Court seems poised to do, means that if you show up to an ER bleeding to death from a car accident, the hospital can decide if you look rich enough to save.

PLEASE leave a patient how you found them or even better. If you unsnapped their gown, took off a dressing, muted their TV, turned their lights on brighter…undo, fix, redo, make right all of that before you leave the room.

Not only for patient safety but their dignity as well!

We went to urgent care for my daughter’s tick bite. Got a 10 day course of doxycycline (safe re: teeth staining as long as under 21 day course).

Any tips on how to help a kiddo swallow a very gross tasting liquid med? She doesn’t like chocolate. Has to take mLs BID.

My daughter had an embedded tick in her belly button a few days ago & now this. Worth urgent care/antibiotics? Doesn’t appear like the typical bullseye rash.

Today at the library I was reading in a recliner when a little boy, maybe 18 months old, toddled over. He crawled up my legs, turned around & without a word, plopped down in my lap. There he stayed for a good 10 min. His mom was so apologetic but it was the highlight of my day!

One of the strangest things about the ICU is when you care for a patient for 12, 24, 36 hours while they are sedated/unconscious then you come back days later & “meet” them for the first time after they’re extubated & awake.

I could barely get my kids through bath time before their outside-all-day, sun kissed & sleepy bodies fell asleep by 7:30. Between riding bikes, going to the park, the lemonade stand, swimming & pizza outside for dinner, today was a solid 10/10 day, all around. ❤️
