It's a bad system. Sometimes, patients complicate this by insisting on drugs before tests.

But it's the duty of the doctor to do the right thing.

Some doctors ,out of 'whatever I don't know' think lab tests are not necessary. And this behaviour is very common.

How often are your micropipettes calibrated by an accredited third party?

If you are not aware of any micropipettes calibration by external engineers, then, it's likely you aren't doing the right thing in your lab.

The frequency of Pipette calibration is set by a facility.

To clarify this incase you have not gone through the comment section, there is nothing TECHNICALLY wrong in keeping pipettes this way except that it increases the chance for fluid to go inside the pipettes.

This in turn could affect the piston, or form plaques inside. And
