31 March. Musselburgh. Three year ticks for me on site today - 2 Wheatears, 2 Fulmar and 1 Brambling. Also 7 Shoveler, 3 Sand Martins Birding Lothian
30 March. Duddingston heronry count day - but only 15 nests. It's not looking good for Lothian's largest heronry with marked decline over last 15 years. Birding Lothian BTO Scotland #heronries
29 Mar. Musselburgh. My first Sand Martins of the year (2 west), also 700 Common Scoter (flushed by rowers).

The Environmental Impact Assessment for the Musselburgh Flood Protection Scheme (which also includes the whole seawall along the lagoons) has now appeared online musselburghfloodprotection.com/proposed-schem…… Objections to the scheme have to be made on or before 24th April 2024

24 Feb. Musselburgh. Long-tailed Duck and Teal from this morning. 73 Velvets and 350 Common Scoter - but nothing with them. Birding Lothian
